The medieval Veynau Castle, which is known nationally, is looking for a new owner!

Here is a brief overview of the turbulent history of this property:

Around 1340, the complex originally designed as a moated castle was expanded into a mighty fortress. A short time later it became the property of the Jülich family and became part of the Jülich fortification belt around Euskirchen.

In the 15th century, the castle received most of its current appearance through modifications. It was badly damaged during the Thirty Years' War (1618-1648) and a fire in the early 18th century required rebuilding. In the early modern period, the castle complex lost its original meaning and stood empty for a long time.

Only after the Second World War was it rebuilt by various owners and extensively restored in 1988 with the support of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, which required an estimated investment of 4 million euros. Renovation and fit-out work has also recently been carried out, including the modernization of some of the many toilet and bathroom facilities. However, a lot of work is still needed to complete it.

The condition of the property is exceptionally good, however a future lord should be willing to continuously invest in maintenance. The property is under video surveillance and equipped with an alarm system.

We are now looking for a solvent lover who will breathe new life into this unique property. The potential is enormous and the possibilities are extraordinarily diverse.
